MUNQS is the Model UN and Quizzing Society of my school DPS Mathura Road. MUNQS has been organising Model UNs since 2009 and their average number of attendees keeps growing every year. I started designing for MUNQS in 2011, starting with their logo. The logo helped set apart an identity for MUNQSMUN at a time when a lot of schools were beginning to join the trend. Eventually I began to design placards and banners for the entire event. This meant I was required to design placards for each country being represented in the MUN. I gave all placards a universal theme but made them stand out using designs from their flags or the flags' colours. My approach to designing the banners was to make everything readable yet give it a subtle look and not make it hurt the eye. Over the different editions of MUNQSMUN I wanted to tweak the designs and make them even better. I was also in charge of the certificates that were distributed to the participants. Considering that the certificates are given to each and every participant regardless of winning, I also took great interest in making it a stand-out among the many other school certificates students have. So while I wasn't actively participating in the activity of Model UN, my contribution behind the scenes was extremely important in giving a face to the brand which made me a key member in the organising of every edition. My last contribution to the society was a combined effort of me and my friend, Prabhav Khandelwal. We created the MUNQSMUN website with all the details and necessary information regarding the society. We understood that it's one of the first impressions a person has of the the event therefore we designed the website to be user friendly and aesthetically pleasing. I graduated from school an important member of MUNQS and while I may not have honed my debating skills - I did groom my design acumen every year and grew better with each edition.
